New World Record in SM

With the introduction of the 30" clearance rule in 2010, it seriously harmed competitors.

A drop of up to 1.2 dB wasn't odd, actually it was more like the common rule.

Apart from that subwoofers in a walled configuration were prone to suffer severe damages.

But there is no rule without an exception.
ElectricTeam, already known for the loudest SM score (166,1 dB) in the 2010 season prior to the 30" rule, changed their set-up.                                                                                        view video by cliking the picture

The old subs were replaced with the B² CC18" powered by the same M1 amplifiers.

After some tweaking & tuning, the first run at the 3x dB drag competiton in Padova, Italy
(Oct 30th 2010) took the Termlab to new heights. 165.6 dB was enough to make it a new world record, superseeding the old world record by 2.1 dB, a large acheivement in itself.

But why stop there? A new month a new score was Electric Team Donatos intentions.
So at the dB drag day held the 1st of November, the ante was upped.

166 dB in the qualification run was amazing to some & unbelievable to others.

So the judge made sure to check the car to avoid any further misunderstandings.

Electric Team went to the finals & decided to "turn it up", impressing the crowd with a 166.2 dB run!
